Amazon’s Simple Storage Service
The incredible folks at their web services division have done it again.
With their Simple Storage Service (S3), anyone can now use Amazon’s architecture to store and share data.
Their pricing is extremely reasonable too, just 15 cents per GB-month of storage and 20 cents per GB of transfer. No start up or monthly costs.
I wonder how it puts pressure on those paid online storage services, or even better, how people can now focus on building cool applications without wondering how to set up the storage architecture.
But I wonder what Amazon thinks about people sharing (ahem!) music and movies files using their system
